Great Truths without Division:China Garden Cultural Contemporary Art International Tour Exhibition
“Great Truths without Division:China Garden Cultural Contemporary Art International Tour Exhibition” was initiated by the School of Fine Arts of Central University for Nationalities and was funded by the National Arts Foundation in 2025 for a dissemination, exchange and promotion project. Its aim is to promote the creative transformation of China’s outstanding traditional culture and its international dissemination, as well as to facilitate cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and foreign countries. This exhibition adheres to the international curatorial concept of “Great Truths without Division”, focusing on the creative transformation of traditional Chinese garden art and the exchange and mutual learning of arts in English-speaking countries. It presents Chinese wisdom that conforms to existing environmental conditions and the cultural concepts of the Chinese nation, which transcends the dichotomy of subject and object and is in harmony with nature and without division, through the contemporary art international exhibition of Chinese garden culture. This international exhibition showcases the artistic achievements of renowned contemporary artists and the teachers and students of the School of Fine Arts of Central University for Nationalities in the creative transformation of traditional Chinese gardens, featuring distinct artistic ethnic characteristics and Chinese-style modern artistic concepts and forms. It will effectively promote the international exchange and dissemination of Chinese garden culture concepts in the form of contemporary art, and has significant value and significance for the creative transformation and international dissemination of China’s traditional culture in the contemporary context. “Great Truths without Division:China Garden Cultural Contemporary Art International Tour Exhibition” overcame numerous difficulties and challenges during its implementation. In the backdrop of the changing international situation, it integrated the international academic exchanges and folk interactions of garden culture art into mainstream university art galleries and museums in the United States. Apart from the opening reception, each exhibition session also set up a public participation and interaction workshop for the creation of a public ink painting scroll of garden culture, which can effectively promote the understanding and personal experience of Chinese culture by the teachers and students of the university and the local community. The creation of the public ink painting scroll of garden culture as a common topic and opportunity promotes friendly trust among ethnic groups and folk cultures, and through cross-cultural exchanges in artistic creation, it promotes the exchange, understanding, and mutual learning of different national cultures based on the concept of “Great Unity” of the same world. This project was funded by lottery public funds – China Welfare Lottery and China Sports Lottery, and by the National Arts Foundation.
